Modi 3.0 Cabinet: 'Have serious doubts if Congress will attend oath of PM', says Jairam Ramesh (2024)

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to retain Raebareli seat and may leave Wayanad constituency, said Sources.

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Saturday unanimously urged Rahul Gandhi to take on the mantle of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha to which he told the party's top brass that he will take a decision on it "very soon". At a meeting of the CWC, the party's highest decision-making body, chaired by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and attended by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, among others, the party's Lok Sabha polls showing was hailed but it was also decided that separate committees would be set up in states where the performance was not good or below expectations, to take corrective measures.

Amid the hectic meetings in the national capital, there won't be any changes in top four ministries, said sources.

A high-level meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and JP Nadda is taking place ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the Modi 3.0 government at the Centre.

Supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are planning to celebrate his third swearing-in in 22 cities across the United States, a senior leader from Overseas Friends of BJP-USA has said.

The celebrations in cities, including New York, Jersey City, Washington DC, Boston, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, would be spread over the current and the coming weekends.

“Victory celebrations will be held from this Friday to next Sunday in 22 cities in the US,” OFBJP-USA President Adapa Prasad told PTI on Friday.

After President Droupadi Murmu appointed NDA Parliamentary Party leader Narendra Modi as prime minister-designate, leaders of the BJP and those of its coalition partners congratulated him and said the country will scale "new heights" of progress under his leadership in the next five years.

The BJP won 240 seats in the just-concluded Lok Sabha polls, falling short of the halfway mark in the 543-member House, but the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) together won 293 seats, which is a comfortable majority.
