Pumpkin Spice Latte Melt and Pour Soap Recipe (2024)

How to make an easy pumpkin spice latte soap recipe. This is a fall soap recipe made with melt and pour soap and essential oil for a natural scent. It has real coffee grounds in it for a true coffee scent.

How many pumpkin spice lattes have you had this year? I haven't had any, unless you count Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte K-Cups. Those I have had a few of so far this year.

I found a way to satisfy my cravings for PSL without breaking the bank or drinking a lot of calories with this pumpkin spice latte melt and pour soap.

It smells amazing, and the coffee gives it a little boost of scrubbing power. Caffeine is also said to help with cellulite, so it makes a good body bar as well as a hand soap.

I used melt and pour soap because I wanted a quick, easy project. This is a seasonal soap, and I didn't want to wait for weeks while the soap cured. It's best to use a suspension soap base because of the coffee grounds, but you don't have to.

Best Soap Base for Fall Soap Recipe

When you add additives like coffee to soap, it can fall to the bottom while the soap sets up. However, I don't like keeping a lot of bases in stock.

I only carry white base and clear base, both from Bolek's Crafts. I love their melt and pour base, and the price is great.

You can also find melt and pour soap base on Etsy. You an use a white base or a clear base, but the color will look different.

I used a clear base for this pumpkin spice latte soap recipe. To see what it looks like to use coffee in a white base, check out my orange slice soap recipe.

The trick to using a non-suspension base with coffee or other soap additives is to let the soap cool before pouring. I rarely use a thermometer, so I let the soap set until it starts to form a skin on top. Then I give it a quick stir to melt the skin and pour quickly.

Coffee Grounds in Melt and Pour Soap

You can add coffee grounds to melt and pour soap, but they must be dry. You can use either new coffee grounds or reuse them after you brew a pot of coffee.

If you reuse them, lay them on a cookie sheet to dry for a day or two. If there's any moisture, your pumpkin spice latte soap can get moldy. Yuck!

Using Spices in Melt and Pour Soap

Since spices are dry, you can use them in melt and pour soap. Learn more about using melt and pour soap additives. You can get pumpkin pie spice on Etsy or make your own pumpkin pie spice recipe.

Cinnamon can irritate some people's skin. I recommend using this pumpkin spice latte soap recipe as a hand soap or omitting the pumpkin spice for those with sensitive skin or for a body bar.

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Latte Soap Recipe

Step #1

If you are adding the pumpkin pie spice, then you will want to combine the spices and the coconut oil. Mix them well and then add to your melted soap. This prevents the spices from clumping. Combine the oil and spices and set aside.

Step #2

Cut the soap into 1 inch cubes. Then heat on high in a microwave in 30 second intervals until melted. Stir after each 30 second burst.

Step #3

Add the coconut oil and pumpkin pie spice mixture and stir well. Let cool for a few minutes and add the coffee grounds.

Step #4

If you're using a suspension base, you can pour now. If you don't have a suspension base, the coffee will sink to the bottom if you pour now. Let the soap cool until a film forms on the top. Then stir well and quickly pour into the mold. This helps stop the heavy ingredients from sinking to the bottom.

Once you've poured it, let it cool completely. Then pop out of the mold. If it doesn't release, put it in the freezer for 10 minutes and it should pop right out.

This pumpkin spice latte melt and pour recipe is simple to make and takes about 10 minutes until pour. These make great bars for the bath or the kitchen. Coffee naturally reduces odors, so I use a coffee soap in the kitchen to use after I cook with onions or garlic.
