Ruffin, Sr. and Bertha Mae Gordy Ruffin. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed with Fruehauf Trailers for 42 years. Mr.

Ruffin was a member of SouthPark Christian Church where he was active many years. Homer enjoyed the computer, fishing, crabbing and shrimping. He was a big Atlanta Braves fan and was also a member of the Shriners. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and friend. addition to his parents Mr.

Ruffin was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and granddaughter, Kathryn Wyatt. Survivors include his daughters, Pamela R. Young and husband, Dan of Locust Grove, VA and Patricia R. Wyatt of thews, NC; son, Rick Ruffin of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Shane Ruffin, Young, II, Lindsay Wyatt and Kristin Young. Mr.

Ruffin is also survived by three great dren and was awaiting the arrival of the fourth. Kithcart GASTONIA David M. Kithcart was escorted by angels to his eternal home May 13, 2010. David was born to the late Hezekiah Kithcart and Bishop, Brown on June 18,1928 in Gastonia, NC. He was a graduate of Highland High School in Gastonia wellknown football star. After being recruited by NC University for a football scholarship, David graduated cum laude with a B.S.

in English. He married his college sweetheart, the late Almena Dolores Jaggers, on March 20, 1953. He joined the military in 1953, the same year was integrated. Although there many obstacles and challenges, he excelled and became a well-respected officer. He received Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized September 10, 1961; he was later baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Dacompleted two tours in Korea and one in Vietnam. He was stationed in Tehran, Iran for 2.5 years with his wife and six children as an interpreter and liaison for the American and Iranian Armies. He was also stationed at various military posts throughout the United States. After retiring in 1973 as Post Commander of Holabird, MD, he moved OH with his family. David was able to focus solely on ministry, began preaching, teaching, and conducting prayer meetings in his home and in various churches nationwide.

There was rarely a time when a prayer was not being prayed or a soul getting saved in the Kithcart home. And, if you knew his wife, no one ever left their home hungry. He leaves to cherish his memory sons, David Fr. (Carla) Kithcart, Virginia Beach, VA, Anthony Kithcart, Merchant Marines, (Ret.) Shive, 88, of Greenville, died Friday, June 11, 2010. Born in Salisbury, North Carolina on October 11, 1921, he was a son of the late Luther Jerry Shive and Katie Holshouser Shive, and Zora Dellinger Shive, stepmother. They moved to Rocky Mount in 1938, and he graduated from Rocky Mount High School in 1939. Lowell graduated from Mars Hill College and then served in World War II as a fighter pilot in the European theater. He then graduated from North Carolina State University in 1948.

He is by wife Clara Shive the surviveds his, home; three sons and their wives, Jerry Dedmon Shive and his wife, Marsha, Reverend Dr. Ronald Lowell Shive and his wife, Pam of Burlington, North Carolina, Reverend Dr. Stephen Andrew Shive and his wife, Doris of Fargo, North Dakota; six grandchildren, Charles Andrew Shive and wife, Jenna, Emily Terrell Dean, Dr. Megan Shive Cifuni and her husband, Marc, Colin Alexander Shive, Claire Dellinger Shive, and Jordan Thomas Shive; and four greatgrand children. Lowell was predeceased in death by a brother Verne Edward Shive.

Lowell was employed with ICI America for 30 years and during that time was a member of numerous textile associations. He was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church; where he was also a member of the Agape Sunday School Class. Rena Margaret Morris Sadler ROCK HILL Rena Sadler, age 92, of Rock Hill and formerly of Stanley, died Thursday, June 10, 2010. Rena Sadler was born on April 20, 1918, in Gaston County, North Carolina, to the late Lambert and Lundy Spargo Morris. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill. Rena is survived by her daughter: Joyce Sadler Stafford of Rock Hill, two grandsons: Jeff Kenney and Nathan Kenney both of Rock Hill, sister; Jeanette Cordell of Hickory and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. After graduation from high school, Ruby Nell went to Kansas City Bible College. On August 5, 1949 she married Richard D. Tevebaugh. They had four children: Joy Dell Gunderson(Gerald) of Zeeland, MI, Mark Lee Tevebaugh (Debbie) of Indialantic, FL, Joel William Tevebaugh(Karen) of Charlotte, NC, David Glenn Tevebaugh(Pamela) of St.

Louis, MO; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Richard and Ruby Nell served as pastor and wife for four churches in Overland, MO, West Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC, and Hazelwood, MO and Richard served on the staff of a church in Matthews, NC for a total of fifty years of service. They also have ten years at Westminster Towers in Rock Hill as pastor in residence with Ruby serving with him. Ruby Nell loved the Lord with all her heart and served him faithfully all those years. Children's ministry was always her strong field of service.

Whenever she and husband moved to a different church, she stated that she was not a threat to the church organist, pianist, secretary, or women's society leader but tell the janitor, "I'll give him a run for his Ruby Nell loved flowers and gardening. Wherever she lived there was always a garden "out back" somewhere. Even at the towers, on her balcony, she had her own garden. When the chief gardener for the Towers behind the building left, Ruby Nell took over. She worked hard to grow flowers and vegetables back there but her health finally limited that labor.

The drought conditions finished it! Ruby Nell loved crafts and many other challenging activities. Wherever she lived she won the the hearts of the people so that over the years cards and holiday remembrances continued to follow her. Her godly life and influence blessed many. Her operated The Bridge family, Restaurant, where she worked as cashier until two years ago. Gertrude was a longtime member of Waxhaw Presbyterian Church.
